The focus of this position is to enhance patient care and safety while working and collaborating positively as a member of the MVHR team.
A nursing assistant is a highly motivated and well-trained individual who provides most of the direct personal care and is in a unique position to enhance the quality of life for the patient/resident.
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Nursing Assistants to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide essential support to nursing staff and assist in delivering high-quality patient care. This role is vital in ensuring the comfort and well-being of patients, particularly those with specific needs such as dementia or infectious diseases. The Nursing Assistant will work closely with patients, families, and medical professionals in various settings, including inpatient care.

Responsibilities
- Assist patients with daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and feeding.
- Monitor and record vital signs and report any changes to the nursing staff.
- Provide care for patients with infectious diseases while adhering to safety protocols.
- Maintain accurate medical documentation regarding patient care and progress.
- Support patients experiencing dementia by providing compassionate care and engaging them in activities.
- Assist in emergency situations by performing basic life support as needed.
- Collaborate effectively with healthcare teams to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Help prepare patients for examinations or procedures in the operating room (OR) and other medical settings.
- Engage with children when required, ensuring a comforting environment for young patients.
Equipment/Skills
- Must be able to relate to and work with ill, disabled, emotionally upset and at times hostile people of all ages within the facility or on the phone.
- Must have the ability to follow and carry out written and oral instructions.
- Must have knowledge of nursing equipment including blood pressure monitor, scale, proper procedure tools, and other equipment used.
- Able to organize and prioritize workload.
- Able to work under pressure and perform multitasking duties.
- Able to complete tasks within a given time frame.
- Able to work with minimal supervision.
- Able to handle emergency situations in a calm, professional manner.
