Job Title: Seasonal Assistant Operations & Guide

Location: Whitefish Outfitters & Tours, Whitefish, MT

Hourly Rate: $22/hour

Schedule: Full-time, 5 days a week, weekend availability required. This is a job for a young person, who wants to do something different each day.

Start Date: June 1, 2025

End Date: August 31, 2025 (approx.)

We’re looking for a motivated and versatile Assistant Operations Manager/Guide to join our team and help make these experiences as smooth, safe, and enjoyable as possible.

Job Overview:

As the Assistant Operations/Guide, you’ll be a key part of our team, balancing customer service, operational duties, and hands-on tasks like e-bike maintenance and guiding tours. Each day could look different. If you have a passion for outdoor recreation, a knack for fixing things, and love working with people, this is the role for you!

Key Responsibilities:

• Guiding Tours:
• Lead engaging and informative e-bike, hiking and paddling tours, ensuring guests have a safe and fun experience.
• Share knowledge of local wildlife, history, and landmarks to enhance the tour experience.
• Provide outstanding customer service throughout the tour, answering questions and ensuring guest safety.
• Equipment Maintenance:
• In conjunction with the Bike Tech, perform basic maintenance and repairs on e-bikes, mountain bikes and gravel bikes ensuring they are in top condition for each tour (e.g., checking tires, brakes, and charging batteries).
• Maintain paddling equipment, ensuring everything is clean, safe, and ready to use.
• Reservations & Customer Service:
• Manage reservations through phone, email, and in-person communications.
• Assist guests with booking tours, confirming reservations, and answering inquiries.
• Provide a positive experience for guests from booking to tour completion.
• Operational Support:
• Assist with daily operations, including opening and closing procedures, equipment inventory, and restocking supplies.
• Work with the team to ensure smooth daily operations, and troubleshoot any issues as they arise.
• Safety and Compliance:
• Ensure all safety guidelines are followed during tours, including the use of safety gear and adherence to local regulations.
• Educate guests on safety procedures for e-bikes and paddling.
• Miscellaneous Tasks:
• Help with marketing efforts by promoting upcoming tours and services.
• Support the team with various tasks to ensure everything runs smoothly.

Qualifications:

• Outdoor Recreation Experience: Previous experience in outdoor recreation, particularly with e-bikes or paddling, is preferred.
• Mechanical Skills: Ability to perform basic maintenance on e-bikes (training can be provided).
• Strong Communication Skills: Comfortable interacting with guests, explaining safety procedures
• Customer-Focused: Friendly, professional, and dedicated to providing excellent customer service.
• Physical Stamina: Ability to be on your feet for long periods, lift and carry equipment, and guide tours in various weather conditions.
• Availability: Must be available for 5 days a week, including weekends.
