Camp Hellroaring Camp Counselor
At Camp Hellroaring, counselors have the biggest role in shaping the day camp experience for kids and making it unforgettable. The camp counselor is in charge of carrying out daily camp activities, student engagement, working with camp director to plan and develop weekly activities, while maintaining a superior level of safety and fun at all times. We encourage counselors to bring their own interests and talents to the job, so a sense of creativity and motivation is important. Activities include outdoor adventure sports, arts and crafts, hiking, water activities, nature-based education and activities, and games of your own invention — the wackier the better! This is the perfect opportunity for someone looking to work with a team to develop a program that gets children outside and excited to learn and explore!Camp Hellroaring is a day camp based in Whitefish, Montana. Counselors must be over the age of 18 and reside in the Flathead Valley and have some experience with kids. Camp counselors will be shuttling kids to daily activities in a company van. The summer of 2025 goes from June 9th to August 15th, including one week of staff training and 8 weeks of camp. Each week is with a different group of kids, ages 8 to 12. Training is in June, with no camp during the week of the 4th of July. Counselors will be responsible for a max of 12 kids per day, along with a co-counselor. Position is hourly pay, and work schedule is Monday through Thursday 8:00AM to 5:00PM, additional hours may be needed for prep and office communication.Requirements:
- Background check
- Drivers license
- Clean driving record
- Experience with children
- Basic First Aid and CPR certified - can be obtained before start date
- Experience with paddleboarding and kayaking
- Knowledge of local wildlife and geography
- Bear aware training - can be obtained before start date
- Desire to create a safe, welcoming, fun space for a variety of kids
- Ability to work with co-counselor

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
