What are the responsibilities and job description for the Technical Assistant I - Oni Lab (Relocation Assistance Available!) position at Whitehead Institute?
Classification:
Exempt
Job Family:
Technicians
Reports to:
Whitehead Fellow
Job Description Summary:
The Oni Lab is dedicated to uncovering the molecular mechanisms that drive cellular interactions within the tumor microenvironment (TME), with a focus on identifying key effectors and developing innovative strategies to reshape these interactions for improved pancreatic cancer treatment. Our research leverages multimodal approaches to interrogate the tumor cell surfaceome and secretome, thereby uncovering critical mediators of tumor-stroma-immune interactions. These efforts are further supported by the development of cutting edge in vitro and in vivo pancreatic cancer models, which enable us to dissect the dynamic crosstalk among tumor, stromal, and immune cells. In parallel, we develop novel biologics to precisely target and disrupt tumor-promoting interactions, thus driving the development of potentially transformative therapies for pancreatic cancer.
The Oni Lab seeks a motivated research technician to support our studies on multicellular interactions in the tumor microenvironment and therapeutic development for pancreatic cancer. The role involves molecular biology, cell culture using tumor cell lines, organoids, fibroblasts, and primary immune cells. Additionally, the research technician will help with in vivo mouse models in a collaborative, dynamic, and intellectually stimulating research environment.
