PURPOSE OF CLASSIFICATIONThe Treatment Provider provides the following services (as defined by state of Georgia service guidelines) for individuals with Addictive Disease/trauma: Behavioral Assessment; Service Plan Development; Community Support Services; Individual, Group, Family Counseling/Training, Discharge Planning, Brief Treatment and Brief Intervention Techniques.This position will work with offenders who are under contract to participant in the Domestic Violence Court Program.This position is grant funded for 2025.*OPEN UNTIL FILLED*
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSThe following duties are normal for this position. The omission of specific statements of the duties does not exclude them from the classification if the work is similar, related, or a logical assignment for this classification. Other duties may be required and assigned.Provide clinical consultation to referral resources, Mentors, family members, and others to help support clients in their recovery. Work closely with clients to engage them in the decision-making process and help them understand the benefits of assessment and accessing the appropriate level of care as indicate.Coordinate with the Program Coordinator as needed Provides counseling to individuals regarding the use and effects of alcohol and drugs.Provides counseling to pregnant women about the effects of drugs and alcohol on the fetus, as requested.Provide group counseling with evidence-based curricula, as requested.Model and support health and wellness activities and healthy coping skills for clients.Monitor client access to and involvement with treatment and other providers to help address barriers to treatment and the recovery process; follow up with client within seven days of referral to assess process and client’s satisfaction with adjusting to the program.Ensure legislation, standards and guidelines are being followedMaintain strict confidentiality guidelines regarding all clients, conversations and referrals.Provides Community education and support programs, as requested.Access and collects relevant information and resources.Makes visits and presentations to various groups and organizations including school aged children as requested by administration.Access and/or develops promotional materials and information in regard to their program.Assists individuals to identify their need for treatment programs.Counselor will be familiar with other services and resources in the community and work closely to provide information and support when required.Participate in all assigned meetings, staff development, and training as required Complete paperwork requirements and maintain quality, up-to-date clinical records, including Outcomes Survey information; enter necessary information into the electronic medical records (EMR) system.Remain in compliance with internal and external policies, procedures, regulations, and standards, including all of Whitfield County, Drug Court policies & procedures, Quality Assurance Plan, DDAP requirements, State Licensing standards, County Monitoring requirements, and managed care regulationsOperates a personal computer and general office equipment as necessary to complete essential functions, to include the use of word processing, spreadsheet, database, or other system software.ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONSPerforms other related duties as required.
