What It Takes
Open to undergraduate students interested in gaining hands-on practical experience in the construction field. Qualified applicants will assist project teams in managing construction projects / including all phases from bidding to final completion.
Assignments include office and job site; relocation to a remote sites may be required.Transportation is required.Work periods are 10-12 weeks; 40 hours / week.Housing may be provided in certain situations.Intern Job Description
Reporting Relationship : Depending on the work assignment, interns will report to a project manager, superintendent, project engineer or field engineer. You may be assigned to the office, jobsite or mix of both.
Tasks Assigned : You will be learning the engineering and technical aspects of the project both in the field and in the office. Your experience will include some or all the following :
Quantity take-offLayoutPreconstruction / as-built surveysShop drawing review / approval & maintenance of logSubmittal review / approval & maintenance of logRequest for information (RFI) review / submission & maintenance of logResponding to subcontractor RFIsInterfacing with subcontractors & suppliersAttending weekly progress meetingsAssisting with coordinating the work between the owner, architect & subcontractorsAssisting during the bid processAssist with reviewing construction documents & specificationsAssisting with reviewing all document revisions & clarificationsAssisting with maintaining field recordAssisting with estimates / budgets / value engineering / constructability surveys Assist with writing contracts & purchase ordersAssisting with preparing billings to owner & submitting change ordersAssisting with approval of invoicesAssisting with ordering & expediting materialsAssisting with scheduling & updatesAssisting with quality control & safetyAssisting with settling contractsAssisting with permit processAssisting with performing costing, scheduling, estimating & project managementPunchlist & project closeoutCooperating & working with field project managementAnd any other duties that may be assignedEducation
Candidates should be in pursuit of a Bachelor of Science in an engineering discipline, engineering technology or construction management, construction technology.
Technical Capabilities
You should be familiar with the following software : Primavera, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Access, Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Exchange, etc.
The Company's pay ranges are dependent on a number of factors including but not limited to role, previous internships with the Company, education experience, and location. The pay range listed is subject to change at any time, in the Company's discretion, and does not alter in any way the at-will nature of the employment relationship.
