What are the responsibilities and job description for the Early Childhood Montessori Educator position at Whiting Woods Montessori?
We are seeking an enthusiastic, kind, and passionate assistant teacher to join our team at our highly rated home-based Montessori school.
We are looking for someone to work in the afternoons:
Monday through Friday 12PM - 5PM or 12PM - 4PM; there is room for some flexibility!
Start Date: July or August 2025
Daily, we serve 12-14 children between the ages of 18 months old to 7 years old. We have an impeccable reputation in our community and plan to continue to care for and educate our students for many years to come. The small size of our school gives teachers the chance to build strong connections with students and families, which is very unique compared to larger schools.
We utilize the Montessori Method of education and have professional development opportunities to learn more about this magnificent method of teaching; there is also information about this method on our website whitingwoodsmontessori.com. I (Rebecca, the owner) hold 19 years of childcare experience, 13 years of Montessori teaching experience, two International Montessori teaching certificates, and a Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education Administration. My goal is to take teachers, even aspiring teachers, under my wing and inspire them to make a truly significant difference in this world through educating young minds.
While I am the owner of this program, I also act as the lead teacher and hold a significant role in the classroom, as well. I am not a boss who just sits in an office at a desk all day and hope that the kids and teachers are doing well - I work in the classroom, I work with you, I work with the kids, and my goal is to create a strong team-oriented bond with whomever chooses to apply. I am here to support you in your journey as a teacher and childcare worker to ensure you feel confident and comfortable in the classroom, too.
Requirements for Hire (I will walk you through them after hiring you):
- Provide your resumé and employment experience
- Provide a Negative TB Test taken within the past year
- Provide your vaccination record depicting MMR TDap Vaccines (TDaP within the last 10 years)
- Complete a 16-Hour CPR / First Aid / Health, Safety, Nutrition Course (I will pay for this after you are hired)
- Complete Livescan Fingerprinting Prior to Starting Work (I will pay for this after you are hired)
- Complete an Online Mandated Reporter Training (I will pay for this after you are hired)
