What are the responsibilities and job description for the Government Affairs Associate [6416] position at Whitman Associates, Inc.?
Association seeks a temporary-to-permanent Government Affairs Associate to support policy development and coordinate advocacy efforts.
- Create and develop educational and grassroots training materials, including programming and content for conferences.
- Provide materials to members and assist with inquiries regarding general legislative and grassroots topics.
- Draft and edit action letters and articles on legislative and policy developments.
- Prepare reports, issue briefs and fact sheets.
- Serve as the point of contact for fundraising calls.
- Maintain records of grassroots activities.
- Coordinate meetings and event logistics.
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Highly organized and attentive to detail.
- Strong research and analysis skills.
- Professional and positive attitude.
- Ability to work collaboratively and independently.
- Effectively manages and prioritizes tasks in a fast-paced working environment.
- Understanding of social, economic, and political issues.
- Strong commitment to the organization’s mission.
- Strong software skills and proficiency in MS Office applications.
- Bachelor’s degree in Public Policy, Political Science, International Relations, or related field.
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience in policy analysis or program management.
