Job Description -
Position Title : INSTRUCTIONAL PARAPROFESSIONAL (includes Special Education, Regular Education, and Title I)
Qualifications : Instructional paraprofessionals shall meet the requirements of a "Highly Qualified" paraprofessional as described in Title I of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act. The minimum qualifications include :
- A high school diploma or equivalent,
- An Associate's (or higher) degree; OR
- Evidence of completion of 48 credit hours at an Institution of Higher Education; OR
- Evidence of completion of one of the formal Massachusetts-endorsed assessments :
ParaPro or WorkKeys
Reports To : Building Principal or Designee
This job description outlines the general duties that the instructional paraprofessional will be expected to complete. However, the job duties described may vary or be amended from time to time without changing the level of responsibility associated with the job. Duties may also vary depending upon the age of students served as well as the nature and severity of students' disability.
