The Director of Surgical Services is responsible for Directing perioperative services. The Director will supervise and manage the performance of assigned Managers and personnel and serves as the liaison with internal organizational leadership. The Director is also responsible for development and implementation of the continuum of care, policies and procedures in the perioperative services, and long-term strategic plans that have organization wide impact. The Director will perform all functions within the scope of their practice as needed.

AREA OF RESPONSIBILITY
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Clinical Oversight
- Recommends, develops, and implements policies and procedures for the Surgical Services Department.
- Directs and ensures the patient care delivered follows nursing standards of care in a manner that promotes positive outcomes, avoids harm to patients, and promotes health and healing.
- Maintains operational aspects of Surgical Services in collaboration with other service areas.
- Provides leadership and direction in accordance with organizational and departmental goals and objectives.
- Develops, justifies, and maintains a budget by monitoring patient revenues and operating expenses.
- Organizes patient care and ensures continuity of care based upon knowledge of patient needs.
- Participates in quality assessment and improvement including utilization and promotion of familiarization with quality improvement standards and programs.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required
- Licensed as an RN in the State of Washington at the time of application.
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from an accredited school.
- 3 years combined experience in OR and Prep/Recovery Services
- 5 years of clinical experience
- 3 years in leadership.
- CPR at the time of hire and maintained while employed.
- ACLS, PALS, and TNCC within six (6) months of hire and maintained while employed.
Preferred
- Certified Surgical Services Manager (CSSM).
WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS
This position is primarily worked in a clinical and office environment. This may include irregular working hours including weekends and on-call responsibilities. Travel to off-site locations for meetings, education and training may be required. The position will frequently require walking, lifting, reaching carrying, kneeling, bending, stooping, pushing and pulling of objects weighing up to 20lbs. The position will occasionally require the ability to lift, and carry, up to 50 pounds and push or pull over 50 pounds, as well as require bending, twisting, squatting, reaching, reaching overhead, sitting and standing frequently. Occasionally the position requires climbing, kneeling and crawling. The position requires continuous finger dexterity and fine manipulation. All basic life functions such as hearing, seeing, speaking, standing and walking are required.

Pay Range:
$110,000.00 - $145,000.00
Compensation: New hires should expect to start at the lower end of the range; actual pay offered will vary based on years of experience.
