We are seeking a talented and motivated Engineer or Architect with 5-10 years of experience to join the firm’s Protective Design Group. This individual will possess a broad understanding of engineering design with the ability to assimilate and integrate specialized protective design criteria and security features into design projects and planning studies to meet the clients’ specific goals. The candidate must possess an understanding of security design concepts and experience with working strategies that will support today’s elevated security threat for federal, state, and municipal clients.
Requirements:
- Candidate must possess excellent technical skills; and be motivated to apply those skills as part of a professional team to the support of projects with special protective design and security requirements.
- Ability to assimilate various project requirements and team goals into a comprehensive, practical security solution, and supporting construction documents, for overall site, perimeter, building envelope, as well as interior building projects is critical
- Candidates must be self-motivated, detail-oriented and thorough in their desire to develop a wide range of protective design solutions (AT/FP, perimeter security, vehicle entry control points, CPTED, blast/ballistic resistance, electronic security systems, etc.) in support of a varied client base. Familiarity with Department of Defense, Inter-agency Security Committee, and other industry-wide security criteria and experience with developing and overseeing construction documents (drawings and specifications) which comply with the criteria is important
Required Qualifications:
- U.S. Citizen
- Ability to obtain a TS/SCI security clearance
- Proficient with Microsoft Project™, Excel™, Word™
- Proficient in AutoCAD™
- BS in Engineering or BS/BArch in Architecture is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Professional Engineering or Architecture License preferred
- Experience in the design of protective design improvements for DoD, DHS, and other federal clients in the Mid-Atlantic is highly desirable.
- ASIS Protective Design Professional (PSP) certification is desirable.
