We have an immediate opening for a Senior Bridge Engineer that will assist in building and leading a Bridge group within our Tampa Office and will coordinate with the bridge engineering team throughout the company. This position will play a vital role in expanding our presence in Florida, hiring and mentoring staff and supporting growth throughout the company. Successful candidates will have a demonstrated ability to pursue and mange bridge and transportation projects, primarily for public sector clients including FDOT and other state departments of transportation, metropolitan planning organizations, transit agencies, municipal clients and other public entities.
Additional responsibilities will include performing the design of new bridges and bridge widening/rehabilitation projects, performing evaluation, inspection, and load rating services for existing bridges, and providing technical oversight and/or Quality Assurance/Quality Control reviews related to these services. Our transportation contracts include a wide variety of structure types ranging from miscellaneous structures (culverts, signal and sign supports, noise walls, etc.) to major concrete and steel bridges.
Requirements:
- A minimum of fifteen (15) years of experience in bridge design
- Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering. Master’s degree or other advanced degree desirable.
- P.E., registered in the state of Florida or ability to obtain within 6 months
- Experience designing bridge projects and preparing contract documents in accordance with FDOT policies and procedures; experience with other state and local agencies in the Southeast and Mid-Atlantic a plus
- Experience with Alternative Delivery projects (Design-Build, P3, etc.) a plus
- Strong knowledge of AASHTO bridge design specifications
- Strong experience with FDOT specifications, policies and procedures
- Experience with a variety of bridge design software
- Track record of establishing strong external and internal relationships
- Experience managing and mentoring staff of all levels
- Experience with all aspects of engineering project management including preparing scopes of work, cost estimates, and project schedules
- Excellent communication and business development skills including developing client relations, strategic partnering, and preparing proposals and presentations
- Ability to travel to project sites, company offices and client meetings
- Excellent reputation as an engineering professional
- Positive attitude and willingness to work cooperatively with others
- Willingness to continue to learn and grow technically and professionally within the company
