Are you an experienced Audit Supervisor or Manager in the Long Island/NYC market? We are working with a top 50 CPA Firm that is looking for an Audit Supervisor or Manager for their NYC office. The role could be a hybrid arrangement.
About the Position:
The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience and will be responsible for overseeing, planning and reviewing engagements; supervising staff, interacting with clients and preparing audit, review and compilation financial statements for clients in the SEC and non SEC industry with a strong focus in Commercial Markets industries (e.g. Manufacturing, Technology, Consumer Products.) General, Real Estate and Construction industry knowledge a plus.
Responsibilities:
- Detail review of SEC and private audits for clients in various industries including but not limited to commercial markets i.e. manufacturing, technology and consumer products
- Identifies audit and risk management issues and proposes potential solutions through research and collaboration with Quality Review and Engagement Partner
- Stays current on technical and industry developments and standards while evaluating potential impacts on their client engagements
- Review audit procedures, workpapers and financial statements of staff with limited supervision from Partners
- Applies advanced knowledge and understanding of SEC regulations and PCAOB guidelines, and documents and communicates the application of these principles
- Reviews SEC filings, financial statements and disclosures for appropriateness in form, content, completeness, and accuracy, and ensures that quarterly reviews are properly performed
- Reviews required communications to the client and Audit Committee, ensuring their completeness, accuracy and compliance with Firm and professional guidelines
- Conducts research, consults with team members, draws conclusions and prepares memos based on target issues
- Oversee Seniors and Staff coordinating the day-to-day duties of planning, fieldwork and wrap-up
- Primary client contact and liaison for complex issues that staff are unable to resolve; communicate effectively with clients and develop positive relationships with client personnel
- Communicate with Partner on work status and client issues that arise
- Perform a detailed review of team’s workflow and monitor that tasks are assigned and completed on a timely basis
- Supervise, train and mentor audit staff
- Keep up to date on U.S. GAAP laws and regulations
Position Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required
- CPA preferred
- At least 3 years’ experience in a similar role
- 2 years’ supervisory experience preferred
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Prior experience managing engagements and clients
- Ability to work independently, but also work well with others
- Experience with ProSystem Engagement a plus
- Takes a lead role in client and team meetings and contributes new ideas and strategic initiatives
- Stays current on technical and industry developments and standards while evaluating potential impacts on their client engagements
Salary : $110,000 - $160,000
