Qualifications
Requirements of the Therapeutic Recreation Director (TRD):
- Must possess excellent recreation programing, methods, charting, and computer skills.
- Be able to lift tables, chairs and equipment
- Be able to assist in the transport of residents in wheelchairs
- Be willing to work evenings and weekends.
- Must be a state certified Therapeutic Recreation Director.
- Team player who will work with the other TRD's on the recreation team
- Work directly under the recreation supervisor with no issues.
- Experience Preferred.
- Good communication and clerical skills.
- A neat and clean appearance.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality on all departmental matters.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities of the Therapeutic Recreation Director (TRD):
- Compliance with the Policies and Procedures of the Home.
- Plan, organize and direct quality recreation programs appropriate for the population in the facility. Ensure programs start and end at scheduled times, allocating time before and after programs for transport.
- Comply with HIPPA rules and regulations.
- Keep up with documentation in a timely fashion for recreation assessment, progress notes, MDS sections, care plans, discharges and participation logs.
- Other duties as may be required by the department head and the Administrator.
- Attend facility mandatory in-services and continuing education in field as necessary.
