Qualifications :
Requirements of the Therapeutic Recreation Director (TRD) :
Must possess excellent recreation programing, methods, charting, and computer skills.
Be able to lift tables, chairs and equipment
Be able to assist in the transport of residents in wheelchairs
Be willing to work evenings and weekends.
Must be a state certified Therapeutic Recreation Director.
Team player who will work with the other TRD's on the recreation team
Work directly under the recreation supervisor with no issues .
Experience Preferred.
Good communication and clerical skills.
A neat and clean appearance.
Ability to maintain confidentiality on all departmental matters.
Responsibilities :
Responsibilities of the Therapeutic Recreation Director (TRD) :
Compliance with the Policies and Procedures of the Home.
Plan, organize and direct quality recreation programs appropriate for the population in the facility. Ensure programs start and end at scheduled times, allocating time before and after programs for transport.
Comply with HIPPA rules and regulations.
Keep up with documentation in a timely fashion for recreation assessment, progress notes, MDS sections, care plans, discharges and participation logs.
Other duties as may be required by the department head and the Administrator.
Attend facility mandatory in-services and continuing education in field as necessary.
