Job Summary:
This position is responsible for preparing and serving nutritious meals to students in a safe and healthy environment.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve food according to menus and portion sizes as mandated by yield guides.
- Clean and maintain kitchen equipment, floors, and work areas.
- Brew coffee, refill beverage machines, and set up hot and cold food areas.
- Deliver food to staff, students, and catering events when necessary.
- Ensure compliance with all state, federal, and local health department requirements for safe food handling.
- Adhere to client location security protocols and guidelines.
- Receive and store incoming supplies.
- Follow assigned break schedules.
- Collect and strip trays for dishwashing and participate in ware washing if assigned.
- Store silverware, dishes, glasses, cups, pots, etc.
- Participate on the safety committee.
- Attend mandatory in-service programs.
- Manage point-of-sale/cash handling if applicable for the position.
Additional Duties and Responsibilities
- Comply with all Whitsons policies and procedures at all times.
- Support the company's goals, objectives, and mission statement.
- Complete all required training and certification programs.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Ability to speak and read English to understand and perform job assignments.
- One year of professional food service experience preferred.
- Always present a positive and professional image.
