_ ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:_
Administrative:
· Collaborates with the Operations team to ensure productivity targets and customer satisfaction
· Ensures effective communication between the clinical and administrative staff
· Ensures effective operation of the clinical services of Adult Medicine, Family Medicine,
· Pediatrics, OB/GYN, Wellness, and Specialty Clinics to assure high patient and provider satisfaction, and to avoid duplication of processes
· Makes clinical workforce planning and scheduling decisions and assigns nursing staff based on competency level, and patient and departmental needs
· Serves as the Infection Control officer
· Oversees clinical policy implementation
· Manages the development of clinical protocols for primary care departments
· Participates as a member of appropriate internal committees
· Participates in annual budget preparation and ensure regular review of and compliance with budget
· Works closely with the QA Team around the development and ongoing management of clinical audit and analysis of subsequent outcomes
Clinical:
· Works 50% of the time as a clinical nurse and manages clinical services
· Responsible for the WSHC infection control plan (including the Dental department)
· Offers clinical advice, care and support to patients and their families
· Provides clinical advice and support to health care professionals
· Implements and monitors infection control, emergency preparedness, waived testing, medical information management and medication management guidelines as required under Joint Commission standards
· Responds to patient concerns as needed to ensure the highest level of patient satisfaction
Personnel:
· Supervises Registered Nurses and Licensed Practical Nurses
· Participates in the hiring and firing processes in accordance to WSHC policy and procedures
· Conducts/oversees 90-day and the annual performance appraisals for all nursing staff
· Assists with the development, implementation, and evaluation of clinical competencies
· Ensures clinical supervision and competency assessment
· Offers support and advice to the administrative team on clinical matters
· Provides staff with regular feedback individually and collectively at staff meetings
Education & training:
· Responsible for providing appropriate opportunities for nursing staff development (orientation, education and in-service)
· Established education plans are in place and ensure plans acted upon
Research and Development:
· Responsible for a culture of evidence based practice within the organization
· Participates in research and development projects in collaboration with external agencies if required
Professional:
· Acts within the code of medical ethics, and adheres to professional standards
· Serves as a model for WSHC core values
· Pursues personal and professional development
Public Relations:
· Actively engages in the promotion of the clinical services offered by Whittier
· Responsible for the updating and developing clinical services information for patients and health care professionals
Required Experience/Abilities/Competencies:
· Minimum 5 years post-registered nurse experience and demonstrated high-level clinical competency
· Three to five years’ experience in a leadership/management role
· Ability to understand the WSHC strategic plan in the context of the clinical service
· Knowledge of Joint Commission on Accreditation for Healthcare Organizations and the ability to
· implement Joint Commission Standards
· Team management skills
· Experience in providing supervision and delivering performance review
· Ability to provide an appropriate environment for the retention and development and education of staff
· Strong problem solving skills and self-motivation
· Strong Interpersonal skills and the ability to work cooperatively with patients, staff and other agencies
· Demonstrates commitment to diversity and cultural competency in the work environment
· Demonstrates integrity and compassion in employee and patient interactions
· Demonstrated skill in leadership/management and experience in clinical practice
· Proficient in written and verbal communication skills

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $100,000.00 - $115,000.00 per year
