What are the responsibilities and job description for the SUBSTITUTE - Instructional Assistant - Special Education position at Whittier Union High School District?
Work Hours are varied at the different school sites between 7 : 45am and 3 : 30pm.
Applicants must provide an up-to-date resume as well as one letter of recommendation dated within the past year. All documents must be attached to your edjoin application.
The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent and successful completion of a competency assessment demonstrating knowledge and ability to assist in instructing reading, writing, and mathematics.
Completion of at least 48 college semester units or 60 quarter units of grade C or better may substitute for the competency assessment.
Obtain a passing score of 70% or better on the District Proficiency consisting of Language Arts, Reading Comprehension and Mathematics. This test is administered by the District (attach a letter requesting to take the proficiency test or that you have previously passed the District Proficiency Test).

Classified Substitute positions are on an as-needed basis. These positions are not permanent.
When personnel needs dictate, the Whittier Union High School District may hire substitute employees as necessary to carry on the functions of the District.
Applicants will be screened. Qualified Candidates will be invited to test.
All employees are fingerprinted as required by the California Education Code and will be processed by the State of California Department of Justice. Each candidate will be responsible for payment cost of $49.00.
