Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The Client CFO serves as a vital advisor to our ideal clients and acts as a key resource for our Client Service Managers (CSMs) and Controllers. In this role, the Client CFO strengthens client relationships by providing business consultations, delivering performance reports, and advising on business improvement, profitability, and sustainability strategies. The Client CFO also offers support to CSMs and Controllers by reviewing financial accounts and facilitating educational opportunities for both professional and personal development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Client Growth Strategies: Understand and assist clients in developing growth strategies.
- Business Improvement Recommendations: Proactively suggest business and process improvements based on insights into clients' operations, processes, and objectives.
- Strategic Goal Setting: Assist clients in formulating strategic business goals.
- Achievement Planning: Develop actionable plans to help clients attain their business goals.
- Process Streamlining: Enhance efficiency and sustainability by streamlining processes within Whittle Strategic Accounting.
- Financial Oversight: Review monthly client financials, oversee external audits, lead in budget and forecast creation, and present client financials to leadership and boards of directors.
- Team Education: Provide internal training and learning opportunities on process improvement, effective communication, and personal development.
- Team Member Evaluation: Contribute to evaluating and interviewing prospective team members.
This opportunity is perfect for a professional with over 5 years of progressive experience in a public accounting firm who is eager to become a strategic business advisor and mentor within an entrepreneurial financial services environment.
Desired Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or business-related field required
- CPA or MBA preferred
- 5 years of experience in a public accounting or consulting firm
- Income tax knowledge and project management experience
- Strong technology skills using Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook at a minimum, more applications preferred)
- Nonprofit accounting experience
- Team leader who enjoys working with a team and mentoring staff
- Audit experience helpful
- Excellent interpersonal skills and effective oral and written communication skills
- Integrity within a professional environment and a dedication to teamwork
- Ability to multi-task and to work independently with minimal supervision
- Experience working in a paperless environment strongly preferred
- Team player with a positive - 'can do' approach
