POSITION SUMMARY Operate a computer-controlled milling machine to perform one or more machine functions on metal or plastic work pieces.

Essential Functions Statement(s)
- Measure any dimensional call out for part requirements using all gage
- Record any and all requirements for check sheets when required
- Lift workpieces into the machine manually if needed per weight requirement
- Operate a crane or hoist
- Keep machine and immediate work area clean
- Know and operate basic machine controls and adjust the machine according to part measurements
- Index inserted tooling when needed
- Locate tooling and/or supplies from the tool crib
- Check and maintain oil and coolant levels in the machine
- Deburr and polish parts to specification
- "clock in" per job requirement
- Adjust offsets according to the requirement
- Change out and replace all the tooling required for the job
- Touch off and set all tooling required
- Compare print dimensions to the check sheet dimensions
- Perform basic program editing
- Figure SFM (Surface Feet per Minute) and feed rates for tooling
- Load and unload programs to/from machines and computer
- Perform basic machine setup from part to part
- Setup and operate manual lathe, manual mill, grinders, and saw for basic machining
- Perform basic bench work and assembly as needed
- Perform basic setup and operation of CNC equipment
- Perform basic manual programming
- Perform basic CAD programming including 2D work
- Build basic fixtures from a print and/or instructions given
- Read prints proficiently
- Calibrate and use measuring instruments efficiently
