Hourly Rate: $30-$35/ Hour

SUMMARY

The Lead Cleanroom Operator is responsible for leading and training the cleanroom manufacturing staff to meet the production demands as set by the Mold Manager and Scheduling Analyst. While the Lead Clean Room Operator will be responsible for manufacturing products, he or she will also have responsibility for alerting the Mold Manager of any issues within the clean rooms, including but not limited to Quality issues, Maintenance issues, and throughput challenges. The Lead Clean Room Operator will coordinate with the Mold Manager and the Scheduling Analyst to ensure that the production schedule is met and will work with the Mold Manager to resolve any issues that arise. The Lead Clean Room Operator will make observation-based suggestions to the Mold Manager on how to increase throughput and increase the quality of the product.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Train and cross-train other operators on manufacturing and quality practices within the clean rooms.
  • Machine Operation: Proficiency in setting up, operating, and maintaining molding machines. Material Knowledge: Understanding the properties of different materials and how they behave during molding processes.
  • Quality Control: Ability to perform visual inspections, use measurement tools, and ensure products meet specifications.
  • Blueprint Reading: Capability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Troubleshooting: Skills to identify and fix issues such as flash, warping, and sink marks.
  • Maintain all molds, fixtures, and dies used in production.
  • Provide troubleshooting assistance for Operators
  • Assist in Mold Validation and R&D activities
  • Detecting small defects in molded parts
  • Ensuring accurate machine settings and calibration
  • Evaluate tooling and report to engineering possible damage or excessive wear
  • Fill out and maintain documentations to Quality Standards
  • Following established procedures to maintain a clean and organized environment
  • Managing multiple machines or tasks simultaneously
  • Adapting to changing production schedules and requirements
  • Alert Mold Manager of any issues within the clean rooms and coordinate with needed resources to correct the issue.
  • Coordinate with the Mold Manager and Scheduling Analyst to ensure the product is being manufactured to the Production Schedule.
  • Represent and communicate the needs of other operators to the Mold Manager and guide other operators through issues with diplomacy and tact.
  • Assemble subassemblies or finished parts using fixtures, hand presses, and manufacturing equipment accordingly.
  • Visually inspect parts throughout job run for defects. Use measurement tools such as a ruler, measuring tape, calipers, or micrometers to check dimensions.
  • If out of specifications, make necessary adjustments to correct the problem. If necessary, consult with the Mold Manager.
  • Manufacture components according to Standard Operations Procedures (SOP) and through training provided by the Quality and the Manufacturing Departments.
  • Read blueprint or job order for product specifications and determine sequence of operations.
  • Assemble products using plastic tubes, tubing, fittings, and components under moderate supervision and with some latitude for independent judgement.
  • Technicians will be cross trained on all operations involved in the manufacturing process inside and outside of the clean room.
  • Follow cleanroom policies to limit the airborne particles and bioburden in the cleanroom environment.
  • Responsible for coordinating and cooperating in a team production environment to ensure products are produced orderly, efficiently, and with the highest quality.
  • Utilize Epicor MES software during the manufacturing process based off the travelers.
  • Report problems with quality, processes, equipment, or materials to the Mold Manager. Complete line clearance, scrap records, training records, and other documentation as required. Support housekeeping activities.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Requirements

SAFETY TRAINING
To perform this job successfully, an individual must complete and maintain Safety Training according to the Safety Training Matrix.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.
GMP/ISO awareness as they apply to medical/pharmaceutical manufacturing.
Must have at least 5 years of experience molding TPE’s and/or LSR’s.

LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Reports and interprets data in a clear, timely, concise fashion. Inform supervisor of progress/problems. Positive verbal and written communication, interdepartmental and other departments, is essential.

MATHEMATICAL/ MECHANICAL APTITUDE
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as volume, volume change, density (specific gravity), percentages, area, circumference, and shrinkage. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Understanding machine components and basic mechanical concepts
Performing routine maintenance

REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete and abstract variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Root Cause Analysis: Ability to analyze issues and determine their root causes quickly. Process Optimization: Knowledge of how to adjust machine parameters to improve efficiency and product quality.
