Job Summary:
Grocery Clerks provide prompt, friendly, and courteous service while assisting customers and fellow staff in supporting Grocery operations. They also keep displays, coolers and shelves fully stocked and to meet department goals for sales, margin, labor, and customer service.
Duties and Responsibilities
Essential Job Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

Stock, rotate and arrange products correctly following established merchandising and handling procedures.

Maintain an organized back stock of product and supplies throughout shift per procedures.

Take inventory of department, stock for buyers as requested. Notify buyers of out of-stock items.
-
Pull short-date or low-quality items and follow established procedures for recording and disposing of them.
-
Ensure that shelf tags and signs are properly placed and in good condition.
-
Accept orders from vendors as needed, notify buyer of problems with quality or damage.
-
Sort deliveries and verify counts according to established practices.
-
Assist in training new staff on established systems.
-
Assist customers in finding product and/or information, promptly and courteously answer and accurately route phone calls, messages, and customer requests in compliance with established practices.

As directed, move into back stock, rotate, stage, stock and/or merchandise products in accordance with shift criteria.

Achieve WFC customer service standards for internal and external customers.

Maintain cleanliness of department areas and equipment and communicate and document any equipment maintenance and/or safety concerns to department management.

Report any problems with systems, tools and/or products to department supervisors.

Qualifications

Experience in retail, grocery, natural foods and/or cooperative business

Available to work evenings, weekends, holidays

Essential Physical Requirements:

Ability to occasionally move up to 50 lbs. throughout shift

Ability to scan and bag groceries
