We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Area Manager to supervise 5 group homes (Daybreak, Infield, Leffert, Leighton, and Titterton Drive) located in Fairfield County (Bridgeport area), CT. This is a professional position with the overall responsibility for the operation and supervision of the group homes which house the people we serve with Developmental and Intellectual disabilities. You must be available, willing and able to travel to these homes/locations.
The Area Manager supervises, and coordinates activities of program Managers, Assistant Managers and Direct Support Professionals engaged in operations and support service delivery at multiple sites by performing the following duties personally or through individual program Managers or other direct or indirect reports. Supervisors and employees are expected to discuss job performance and goals on an informal, day-to-day basis.
Supervises and leads the operations of programs in a specific region or group, including supervisory duties in accordance with the agency’s standards and policies and applicable regulations and laws. Either personally or through direct reports, the Area Manager is responsible for interviewing, hiring and training employees; assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
· Participates in formulating and administering agency policies and developing short and long-range goals and objectives.
· Directs and coordinates activities in the region or group for which responsibility is delegated to further attainment of goals and compliance with standards, policies, procedures, regulations and applicable law.
· Reviews analyses of activities, costs, schedules and operational data to determine operational status and quality of services or progress toward goals.
· Confers with agency directors and other administrative, clinical and/or DDS personnel and families to review achievements and discuss required changes in goals or objectives resulting from current status and conditions.
· Area Managers are required to carry a smartphone and follow message response protocols established by the agency and specific to program needs.
· Serves as member of management committees on special projects.
Qualifications:
· Minimum high school diploma or GED is required; secondary education preferred
· Excellent communication, social, teaching, leadership and interpersonal skills
· Preference for candidates with at least 5 years of supervisory experience supporting individuals with I/DD
· Previous experience with successful problem-solving, team-building, self-management, and organization
· Proven ability to work successfully with resource staff, external stakeholders and consultants
· Valid driver’s license in good standing
· Successful background check
· Working knowledge of State of Connecticut Licensure regulations preferred

Pay: $57,910.11 per year
