Job Overview Seeking a transport to start in Columbia group home and transport to Brooklyn day program work at the day program and transport individuals back to columbia. Besides a lot driving, you will work with 4 females who have a variation of abilities. Day program is very active with individuals and community activities too. Seasonal gardening too.
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support to individuals with varying needs, assisting them in their daily activities and promoting their independence. Your work will significantly impact the quality of life for those you serve, ensuring they receive the care and attention necessary for their well-being.
Duties
- Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, grooming, and dressing.
- Provide caregiving support in a home health setting, ensuring a safe and clean environment.
- Implement and follow care plans tailored to individual client needs.
- Monitor patient observation, documenting any changes in behavior or health status.
- Prepare meals and assist with cooking as needed, adhering to dietary restrictions.
- Support clients with dementia care by providing companionship and engaging them in meaningful activities.
- Lift and transfer clients safely as required, ensuring their comfort and dignity.
- Maintain a clean and organized living space for clients, promoting a healthy environment.
- Administer first aid when necessary and respond to emergencies according to established protocols.
Requirements
- Previous experience in caregiving or related fields is preferred.
- Knowledge of long-term care practices and patient observation techniques.
- Ability to lift individuals safely and assist with mobility needs.
- Familiarity with dementia care strategies is a plus.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with clients.
- Basic cooking skills and understanding of dietary needs are beneficial.
- Certification in first aid or willingness to obtain certification is required.
- A compassionate attitude towards individuals with disabilities or special needs.
