Warehouse/Shipping Operations Manager

Job Description

B.W. Wilson Paper Company is a family-owned wholesale paper distributor, in business for over 120 years. We are looking for an Experienced Warehouse Shipping Receiving Manager to lead our Harrisburg, PA team.

The ideal candidate has warehouse management experience. Also, having a CDL license - Class A or B - will be highly valued in this position. They will direct and coordinate the activities of warehouse workers and truck drivers engaged in receiving, storing, picking, loading trucks and shipping and delivering products.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Directly supervises warehouse employees and drivers.
• Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
• Interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
• Will have the ability to read, write, show basic math skills, and accurately perform computer functions on operating software. Will be responsive to communications within the company and with outside interests.

• Management and mentoring of personnel; general people management.
• Recruiting, interviewing, and other Talent Acquisition activities.
• Equipment/Asset Management
• Scheduling Inbound and Outbound deliveries
• Cycle counts
• Manage storage bin locations.
• Manage Inventory, Shipping, and Receiving process
• Managing labor productivity
• Safety Training
• Quality checks
• Determines work procedures, prepares work schedules, and expedites workflow.
• Issues written and oral instructions.
• Assigns duties and examines work for exactness, neatness, and conformance to all company policies and procedures.
• Studies and standardizes procedures to improve safety and efficiency of subordinates.
• Maintains harmony among workers and to assist in resolving grievances.
• Accountable and responsible for high standards of warehouse safety, cleanliness, and organization.
  
  

Additional Essential Functions

Attendance/Punctuality Is consistently at work and on time; Ensures work responsibilities are covered when absent.

Work Location This work must be done in our Smithfield, NC facility.

Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have a knowledge of MS Outlook, Basic Excel abilities and Word Processing software.

Certification, Licenses Valid Driver’s License.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Salaried - $60,000 to $65,000 per year, based on qualifications and experience
