Summary/Objective
The Warehouse Manager position is responsible for receiving and storing product by designing and developing product movement, storage systems and safety. This position also coordinates and supervises the activities related to the accurate flow of product through the branchs distribution operation with high emphasis on safety, quality, and a productive work environment.
Essential Functions
- Developing warehouse operations systems by determining product handling and storage requirements
- Developing, implementing, and evaluating procedures
- Enforcing company policies for all warehouse and driver personnel
- Creating processes for receiving product, equipment utilization, inventory management, and shipping
- Maintaining a safe and healthy work environment by establishing, following, and enforcing safety standards and guidelines; complying with legal regulations
- Leading and participating in continual improvement activities
- Creating internal organizational reports using Excel
- Performing additional assignments at the discretion of the supervisor

Supervisory Responsibility
The Warehouse Manager/Safety position manages all warehouse and driver personnel at the branch location.
Working conditions
Work Environment
This position works in a warehouse setting, with some outdoor exposure during the workday. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines, and standard warehouse equipment such as hand trucks, box cutters and tape dispensers.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee must regularly lift and/or move objects up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move objects up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move objects that weigh more than 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a full time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. 5:00 p.m. The employee must work 40 hours each week to maintain full-time status. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
Qualifications
Education and Experience
- Minimum six years of warehousing experience in a distribution environment required
- High school diploma required
- Management/supervisory experience preferred
- College degree(s) preferred
