Summary / Objective
The Warehouse Assistant Manager position is responsible for assisting the Warehouse Manager with the receiving and storing product by designing and developing product movement and storage systems.
This position also coordinates and supervises the activities related to the accurate flow of product through the branch’s distribution operation with high emphasis on safety, quality, and a productive work environment.
Essential Functions
- Identifying branches with effective methods for addressing common problems and implementing these methods across the company
- Managing how company operations flow through the company’s computer operating systems
- Facilitating training of field employees on the correct way to manage their day-to-day tasks within the operating system
- Identifying how to best meet special customer requirements while maintaining efficiency in those operational flows
- Identifying issues that affect overall company profitability and implementing field methods that maximizes the bottom line profit of the overall company

Working conditions
Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand and walk.
This is a largely sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bending or standing on a stool as necessary.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a full time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8 : 00am-5 : 00pm. The employee must work 40 hours each week to maintain full-time status.
Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
Education and Experience
- Minimum 3 years of warehousing experience in a distribution environment required
- High school diploma required
- Management / supervisory experience preferred
- College degree(s) preferred
