Job Summary:
This resource will be required to support operationalization of Federated Data Ecosystem and related solution components to deliver data products and services. Reporting to the Manager, Data Services the Storage Analyst is responsible for providing architectural and development expertise, leadership in the design, development, administration, monitoring, maintenance, and customer support for various data platforms within the Data Centre of Excellence. The Storage Analyst has an in-depth understanding of data operation best practices as well as expertise with the tools needed to debug and diagnose issues.
Responsibilities:
- Lead system implementation and design and architecture for the development, enhancements, and maintenance of Cloud Data Platforms (Azure, Snowflake. Databricks) and other key data platforms (Open public portal, Cloudera, etc.) to ensure the system design meets business requirements.
- Support the design and build scalable and reliable data infrastructure, tooling, CI/CD pipelines to improve client's data product delivery, analytics and data science teams using cloud (Azure) and big data technologies.
- Deliver data platform management and administration, in alignment with the organization's strategic goals, to manage, govern, and integrate data within government.
- Configure and tune cloud-based tools to manage cost, security, and compliance for the environments. Working across a myriad of technology stacks in Azure, Cloudera, Snowflake etc.
- Provide services to support data privacy and security in adherence to enterprise policies (access control, security policies across platforms, etc.).
- Collaboration with other Team members to improve and optimize Cloud and On-premise Infrastructure systems in non-functional perspective: scalability, reliability, performance, capacity, availability and disaster recovery.
- Contribute to defining and establishing an Enterprise Data Strategy and be actively involved in the design of modern data platform features and functionalities, improving scalability and maintainability.
- Support projects to address the implementation of data product delivery components of the Data Strategy.
Responsibilities:
- Bachelor degree in Computer Science, IT or equivalent 8 years of experience.
- Proficiency in writing, maintaining, and version-controlling Terraform configuration files for Azure resources (e.g., Azure Virtual Machines, Storage Accounts, Virtual Networks, etc.).
- Monitor Azure infrastructure performance, troubleshoot issues, and optimize resource usage.
- Deploy, manage, and monitor Azure cloud infrastructure including virtual networks, virtual machines, storage accounts, data services (ADF, Azure Databricks, Azure SQL, Azure ML, etc.) and other Azure resources.
- Automate routine tasks using GitHub/GitHub Actions.
- Maintain and manage Azure cost management and budgeting.
- Implement and manage Azure security controls including network security groups, Azure Active Directory, and identity and access management.
- Collaborate and support data architects, engineers and analysts to design and optimize cloud architecture and services.

- Knowledge of data governance, data privacy, and compliance regulations.
- Strong understanding of Snowflake architecture, features, and best practices.
- Experience with provisioning, supporting and administering Snowflake
- Experience working in the public Domain environment or an environment of equivalent size and complexity.
- Hands on experience administering Databricks
- Hands on experience administering Databricks, PowerBI and Purview
- Experience in prioritizing, provisioning requests based on SLA tiers, urgency, and business impact and experience in tracking, monitoring, and reporting on SLA performance metrics.
