Public Health Educator (Cannabis)

The successful candidate will create public health education plans that outline clear scopes of work, define activities and timelines, include a detailed budget, and provide metrics for evaluating the effectiveness of the campaign.You will be familiar with peer-reviewed literature, statutes and regulations, and existing medical cannabis education materials to create targeted content forregistered medical cannabis patients and healthcare providers in Hawaii. This includes identifying messaging strategies to effectively reach and engage targeted audiences, to wit : Producing (writing, editing, designing) OMCCRs medical cannabis newsletters.Organizing education and outreach activities for registered medical cannabis patients.Coordinating continuing medical education courses for Hawaiis licensed healthcare professionals.You will also assist with and oversee implementation of social media campaign plans as follows : Engage contractual services for communication content development and media platforms from a marketing agency / firm to establish a platform(s) for delivering the medical cannabis health education campaigns.Coordinate with a marketing agency / firm on a regular publishing schedule to promote specific and timely campaigns.Monitor medical cannabis health education campaigns and advise on adjustments to objectives and activities as necessary.Produce reports at campaign midterm and endline which evaluate effectiveness of the campaigns and infer implications from findings for future medical cannabis health education planning.As teacher, you will design and implement at least two one-hour long training sessions for staff in health promotion, education, and communication, interpreting and responding to requests for health information, and selecting effective educational resource materials for dissemination.QualificationsMust have knowledge of public health issues related to cannabis, medical cannabis, and familiarity with Hawaiis medical cannabis regulatory framework. You will understand the purposes, principles, and practices of public health education; general research sources and sources of public health and social and cultural information; and report writing.We are looking for at least three (3) years prior of progressively responsible professional experience in public health education or a related health field which demonstrated : Initiative, resourcefulness, and judgment required to collect, assemble, and develop facts and other pertinent data.Ability to work with media firm to implement a media campaign.Ability to think logically and objectively, to analyze and evaluate facts, evidence, and related information, and arrive at sound conclusions.Skill in written and oral reports and presentations.Tact, discretion, and skill in formulating practical modes of collaboration between health and media agencies.If you're interested in enhancing your credentials as an authority on cannabis education and public health and are passionate about making an impact on the wellness of community, we look forward to receiving your resume.
