As the Senior Director, Construction Cost Management you will play a critical role within the Construction team, as we look to grow at an unprecedented rate across airport and casino locations. Reporting to the VP Design & Construction you will lead all aspects of Cost Management activities, driving value, ensuring compliance, and reporting at project and program level, including provision of management information and insights to the Executive Team.
Location: Support Center, 6600 S Bermuda Rd, Las Vegas, NV 89119 (hybrid)
Schedule: Monday – Friday, Weekends as needed, 40-50 hours per week
Pay: $160,000 annually

Job Responsibilities:
- Lead the capital cost management function for WHSNA, working in collaboration with the Construction Management and Design Management team, as well as wider WHSNA Finance, Business Development and Procurement teams to deliver first class cost management services.
- Lead the production and issue of cost reporting at both project and portfolio level, managing the cost estimating specialists, and providing insights into cost status to support financial review, including internal & external benchmarking, as well as risk management.
- Lead contract administration, contract negotiations and compliance for all active design and construction projects.
- Drive our capital cost reduction program to ensure we seek best value at all times.
- Develop and enforce policies for contract management ensuring alignment with corporate and regulatory compliance.
- Work with the teams to ensure governance and controls are in place in line with all regulatory and internal policy requirements.
- Collection and management of regulatory documents such as bonds, insurance certificates, certified costs from external vendors
- Management of project Contracts, Purchase Orders and Change Orders
- Management of, and Coordination with Finance on, all Accounts Payable and Receivable for all design and construction activities.
- Responsible for overseeing compliance management and driving successful implementation of the new design and construction management system, including the newly purchased platform – Acconex by Oracle.
- Manage the effort to develop and operationalize the workflows to allow design and construction to function seamlessly in this new platform, to include: Change Order Approval Process, Budget management, Contract approval, Payment applications, Vendor approval, Vendor portal access, pay applications data entry, Purchase orders, Committed Cost reporting, Project Cost summary reporting, Asset management tracking, Document storage and file structure, and Estimating Cost Database
- Work with other internal (WHS) departments to aid in workflow development for their processes, including how Acconex may work for them or how it interfaces with design & construction
- Educate users on how to use platform, be a source of Questions and Answers for ongoing issues for D C users
- Work with outside Vendors to integrate their processes with our Acconex platform, as appropriate.
Job Requirements
- B.A. in accounting, finance, construction management, or another relevant field
- 15 years of experience in construction cost accounting, with experience in retail/tenant fit-out construction preferred.
- Understanding of construction industry terms, means, and methods associated with tenant improvement work within multi-retail unit properties.
- Excellent organizational & Communication skills.
- Advanced computer skills with Construction Project Management software and Microsoft Office (WORD, Excel.) products.
