This role will help provide capacity-building activities designed to assist Universities of Wisconsin faculty and staff in their pursuit of external funding to support creative and innovative research and scholarship. Research development is a fast-growing profession with many lucrative job opportunities. Interns will learn about the profession while gaining experience in project management and working with scientists and scholars in various higher education departments. Experience gained from the internship will prepare students for positions in non-profit organizations, industry, and higher education.
WiSys is a small organization and offers you an opportunity to gain a wide range of experiences that can be aligned with your interests. Primary duties may include:
- Assist with management and tracking of events and programs
- Create database of faculty research profiles and interests
- Funding agency research and distribution
- Production of materials for internal and public presentation
- Other tasks to support the staff as needed
Internship Details:
We are seeking a student to start in early January and continue through the current academic year, with the possibility of staying on through the Summer and next academic year. The intern would be able to work 10-15 hours per week, between Monday through Friday and 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Hours are flexible to ensure the student’s education remains a top priority. The rate for this position is $18 per hour.
This position may be done remotely or from our offices in Madison, Wisconsin. WiSys is located at 614 Walnut St.
