Summary: The Receiver is a key member of the culinary team responsible for efficiently receiving, inspecting, and storing goods, ensuring high standards of quality and quantity are met. This role involves working closely with the Executive Sous Chef to maintain smooth operations within the kitchen, with a primary focus on receiving and rotating products. The position requires a high level of physical stamina, as the workload can be strenuous, with frequent lifting of heavy items, often over 50 lbs. In addition to receiving duties, the Receiver will assist in preparing foods for breakfast service and staff meals. The ideal candidate will be proactive, organized, and detail-oriented with a strong ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.

Responsibility: Medium level of supervision needed. High level of operational decision-making.

Work Conditions:
Level 3 Mostly indoors, half of the work is performed in an air-conditioned environment, variable schedule based on business demands (general working hours: 6:00am 3:00pm), some duties require working with hazards.
Receiving Goods:
- Unload deliveries of food and non-food items from vendors.
- Inspect all deliveries for quality, quantity, and accuracy, ensuring all products meet established standards.
- Report any discrepancies, damages, or product issues to the Executive Sous Chef immediately.
- Verify that all deliveries are documented correctly, ensuring invoices match the items received.
- Store products in the appropriate areas, ensuring that they are rotated correctly (first in, first out).
- Maintain organized storage areas, ensuring proper inventory levels and easy accessibility of items.
- Ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation standards in all storage practices.
- Regularly inspect products for signs of spoilage, expiration, or damage and remove substandard products as necessary.
- Maintain temperature control standards for perishable items and report any refrigeration issues.
- Assist with preparing food for breakfast service and staff meals as directed by the Executive Sous Chef.
- Help with basic food prep tasks such as chopping, measuring, and assembling ingredients.
- Work closely with the Executive Sous Chef and other kitchen staff to ensure efficient and timely operations.
- Communicate any issues with deliveries, storage, or inventory to the kitchen leadership team.
- Assist the Executive Sous Chef and Executive Chef with additional tasks as needed in various areas of the kitchen.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas, including refrigerators, freezers, and dry storage.
