Status: Seasonal, Full Time, Non-Exempt
Responsibility: High level of supervision needed. Low level of operational decision-making.
Reports to: Golf & Grounds Superintendent & the Assistant Superintendents.
Supervises: N/A
Skills: Knowledge of uses and purpose of golf maintenance tools and equipment; safe work practices. Ability to perform unskilled and semi-skilled tasks in a variety of construction and maintenance activities; perform manual labor; understand and carry out oral and written directions; establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.
- Excellent Grounds Maintenance Skills- Grass mowing, landscaping, plant trimming, grounds aesthetics, knowledge of grass growing process
- Excellent Teamwork and Communication Skills- Interact, work and relate with people. Listen, speak, read, write, observe, and use English properly.
- Advanced Customer Service Skills- Product knowledge, problem-solving skills, time management, attentiveness, patience, positive attitude, a willingness to go the extra mile, responsibility, professionalism.
- Excellent Safety Skills- Observe safety rules, safely operate equipment, CPR, and First Aid.
- Basic Driving Skills- Possess a valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record. Be able to drive cars with a manual and an automatic transmission. Parking skills.
Effort: High- Walk and stand for extended periods of time. Bend, reach, push, pull, lift and carry up to 75 pounds.
Work Conditions: Level 5- Mostly outdoors, working in hot/cold environment, inclement weather, variable schedule based on business demands. Most duties require working with hazards, constantly working with heavy equipment.
Duties:
- Operate various types of light equipment for the care of the golf course, equipment, and facilities. Operate a weed eater, rakes, blowers, mowers, vehicles, and equipment as necessary.
- Utilize all hand and power tools in landscape maintenance and facilities maintenance work.
- Maintain trees and shrubs, flower beds along with the areas surrounding trees and shrubs.
- Perform semi-skilled tasks involving the maintenance, construction, and repair of golf course;
- May assist in other sections of the Department of Grounds as necessary; Perform other such duties as may be assigned.
- Operate pressurized boom sprayers for fertilizer and plant protectant applications.
- Assist the Superintendent and Assistant Superintendent with biotic and abiotic stresses to the turf and make suggestions as to solve/minimize these concerns.
- Water management on all playing surfaces with hoses as well as overhead irrigation needs to be based on the Superintendents expertise.
- Ensure all turf equipment and tools are prepared and set up prior to each workday and put away after the workday is completed.

Salary : $18 - $25
