Summary:
The Development Manager is responsible for assisting and participating in the organization's development efforts by providing administrative, management, logistical, and project management support for various activities that ensure sustainability and organizational growth. This position supports all aspects of fundraising including the annual fundraising plan, direct mail, major gifts, capital campaign, volunteer activities, and events. In addition to individual-specific donor development activities. The Volunteer Coordinator, Administrative Assistant, and Office Coordinator will report to this position.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
· Collaborate to research and identify sources of giving to support the Food Banks programs while increasing the level of gifts.
· Build, segment, and manage a strong portfolio of prospects and donors, paying attention to the balance between discovery, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship.
· Support the team in cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding gifts specific to the capital campaign
· Lead the due diligence efforts to recommend a direct mail partner.
· Lead and manage the Volunteer Coordinator’s activities to cultivate, steward, and grow volunteers to their potential building life-long advocates.
· Manage the Administrative Assistant to collect, organize, and record through our CMS (Bloomerang) all relevant donor data, prospecting data, demographics, communications, giving history, and activities in a standardized, timely, and accurate process.
· Assist in creating and implementing the Food Bank’s Donor Development Plan.
· Serve as an ambassador for the Wichita Falls Area Food Bank.
· All other duties which may be assigned from time to time by the CEO.
Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree and at least 4 years of professional experience preferably in a Fundraising or Development position.
· Professional, self-motivated, conscientious, and goal oriented.
· Excellent interpersonal, active listening, and communication skills.
· Experience with the Bloomerang CMS preferred.
· Must be able to operate in a collaborative environment where the focus is on what is best for those we serve and the organization.
· Maintain confidentiality at all times.
· Strong supervisory and leadership skills, including collaboration, delegation, strategic management, motivation, conflict management, coaching/counseling, mentoring, etc.
· Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

Working Conditions:
Work is performed in a variety of warehouse, office, and community settings inside and outside the WFAFB. Employees will use computers and equipment daily. Occasional work outside of normal working hours, such as evenings and weekends depending on events.
A major challenge of this position, as with all positions, is working in cooperation with the Board of Directors, staff, member agency representatives, volunteers, and the general public to achieve the WFAFB's mission. This requires frequent communication with staff and occasionally performing tasks that are not specifically indicated in the job description.
