Job Title: Director of Student Assignment
Reports to: Executive Director of School Administration

Primary Purpose:
Coordinate, communicate, and maintain the placement of students in accordance with District policy.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
Valid Texas Teaching Certificate - Preferred
Bachelors Degree from an accredited university
Master’s Degree (Major Course of Study – Education: School Administration or equivalent) - Preferred
Supervisor or Mid-Management certification -Preferred
Special Knowledge /Skills:
Knowledge of Texas Education Code
Knowledge of Local Policy FDB / FNG
Knowledge of computer and District software applications
Knowledge of Texas Attendance Codes and Procedures
Ability to support at-risk students and families
Knowledge of McKinney-Vento Legal and Associated Procedures
Knowledge of pupil-to-teacher ratios and class size mandates
Ability to resolve conflicts
Strong organization, communication, and interpersonal skills
Experience:
Three years of teaching experience or other school administration role preferred
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
- Assist in the school closure/consolidation process - student assignment/transfers
- Assist in the new campus opening process - student assignment/transfers
- Find Your School - updates and changes
- Student Services Pages on District Website
- Enrollment Reporting/Tracking
- Provide training in areas of responsibility as needed
- Supervise and evaluate assigned district staff
- Monitor truancy rates and seek to employ strategies to reduce truancy rates
- Transfers - Chair Transfer Committee
- School Assignment Notification Letters to Families
- Oversee Transfer Revocations
- Assist Transportation Department with Route Development
- Assist Campuses and Families with Infosnap
- Track Enrollment/Overflow Elementary Campuses
- Pre-K Enrollment and Eligibility
- Assist in Assignment of SPED students to Centralized Programs
- Address Verification and Enrollment Coding - Liaison with the City to establish new addresses in the district
- Be informed of administrative procedures, policy and regulations in area of responsibility.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable state and federal law.
- Demonstrate skill in anticipating, managing and resolving conflicts – non-employee grievances
- Conduct Investigations and resolve TEA, Title IX, and OCR complaints
- Maintain records of Bullying Investigations
- Develop and implement effective communication between schools and the community.
- Pursue professional development opportunities
- Exercise judgement in matters not covered by board policy
- Other duties as assigned
