Job Description
Warehouse Worker/Temporary
REPORTS TO: Warehouse Supervisor
PRIMARY PURPOSE: Move boxes, furniture, and district assets from different school locations to new locations.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Education/Certification: High School diploma or equivalent is desired but not needed.
- Special knowledge/skills: Reading and basic math. Exercise independent judgment when undertaking an assignment.
- Minimum Experience: Able to use Dollies, flat carts, appliance dollies, and pallet jacks.
- Fingerprinting/Background Check/ Physical: Pass a class 1 background check and physical.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Move boxes, furniture, and district assets to new locations
- Able to be organized and safe
- Remove furniture and boxes from upstairs and crowded small spaces
- Carry materials and equipment
- Clean work site and other assigned areas
- Inspect equipment for safety
- Follow strict safety procedures due to the risk of injury from materials needed.
- Control/inventory/clean/maintain all equipment and tools.
- Other duties as assigned by Warehouse Supervisor, Assistant Warehouse Supervisor, or Facility Director.
EQUIPMENT USED: Pallet jacks, dollies, flat carts, table carts, and chair dollies.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Mental Demands: Reading of basic school map layouts, maintain emotional control under stress and demanding situations.
Physical Demands/Environmental Factors: Strenuous walking, standing, and/or climbing; work in awkward or cramped positions; work on hands and knees; frequent lifting and carrying of up to 50 pounds; work outside and inside; exposure to hot and cold temperatures; risk injury from falls, and cuts; work on ladders and elevated platforms; work as a team member and or work alone. Good motivation.
Pay Grade: $10/hr
