What are the responsibilities and job description for the Aerospace Assembly Technician position at Wichita Machine Products?
Wichita Machine Products is an Aerospace machine and assembly shop that takes great pride in producing high quality parts and assemblies. We are looking for a team player with a strong work ethic to join our team.
Job Duties:
- Ability to use hand tools such as drill motors, hand squeeze riveter, pneumatic riveter, wrenches and screw drivers
- Inspect parts and the completed assemblies
- Ability to read blueprints and follow customer specifications
- Ability to drill and countersink holes for installation of riveted nut plates, bolts and fasteners
- Bushing and bearing installation to include staking, arbor press, and hydraulic press
- Ability to operate manual machines (i.e. Bridgeport, lathes) to complete assembly tasks as required
- Mixing and application of aircraft sealants such as fay, fillet and shank sealing
- Maintain safe, organized and clean working environment
Requirements:
- A high school diploma is required.
- 2 years of aerospace assembly experience required.
- Manual machine experience highly preferred.
- Must be able to work cooperatively in a team environment.
- Must be very well organized.
- Must be a self-motivated individual.
- Must have the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and work under deadline pressure.
- Mechanical aptitude
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints
- US citizen or permanent resident
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time
- Noise levels ranging from quiet to loud
- Required to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when working on the manufacturing floor including, but not limited to, eye and ear protection.
- May occasionally lift and /or move up to 10-50 pounds
COMPENSATION:
· Based on experience up to $22.00 per hour
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
