Position summary
We are currently seeking a responsible and experienced CNC Lathe Operator to join our team. In this position you will be responsible for effectively operating CNC lathe machines and other shop equipment, also complete set-ups and monitoring processes to ensure production and quality meet or exceed customer expectations.
Job Duties
- Set up and run CNC lathe machines per set up documents
- Assist elsewhere in the shop as needed
- Inspects parts being produced mechanically and visually by using a variety of precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, height gages, gage pins, and thread gages as required for the purpose of meeting blueprint, work order, engineering, or customer specifications.
- Maintain accurate timekeeping using the company shop floor system.
- Box, package, protects and identifies and maintains product identification, as produced for the purpose of maintaining part quality and traceability.
- Deburrs parts produced as time allows or as instructed by supervision for the purpose of utilizing cycle times for maximum efficiency of operation.
- Maintains a clean workstation; daily sweeping, decluttering and returning shop materials/tools to appropriate designated areas.
Requirements
- A high school diploma is required
- 2 years of CNC lathe operating experience
- Must be able to work cooperatively in a team environment.
- Must be very well organized.
- Must be a self-motivated individual.
- Must have the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and work under deadline pressure.
- Mechanical aptitude
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints
- US citizen or permanent resident
- Deburr experience
- Inspection skills
Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time
- Noise levels ranging from quiet to loud
- Required to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when working on the manufacturing floor including, but not limited to, eye and ear protection.
- May occasionally lift and /or move up to 10-50 pounds
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $23.00 per hour
