Medical Coder/Biller

Wichita OB/GYN is seeking an experienced Medical Coder/Biller for our busy OB/BYN practice.

We are not interested in third party billing agencies to fill this position.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:

• Run and work reports to identify and post open charges.
• Assign CPT/ICD-10 codes to services performed by providers
• Post charges and gather supporting documentation for those charges from the EMR.
• Assure timely filing and provide any required or requesting information needed to process claims.
• May perform check payment reconciliations and complete deposit reports.
• May investigate unidentified cash and resolve misdirected payments.
• Other duties as assigned may include but are not limited to:
• Attend staff meetings, phone conferences and training as needed
• Know, understand, and follow Company employee policies and procedures
• Consistent, regular, punctual attendance as scheduled is an essential function
• Maintain confidentiality of all company and patient information in accordance with HIPAA regulations and company policies.

• Must be proficient in Microsoft office and have strong basic computer skills
• Maintain confidentiality of all company and patient information in accordance with HIPAA regulations and company policy.

REQUIREMENTS:

• A high school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 2-5 years payment posting/medical billing experience
• Experience working in EMR software
• Knowledge of CPT, ICD-9, and ICD-10, and revenue codes to facilitate claims payment required
• Experience with the explanation of benefits
• Accuracy, attention to detail, and effective time management skills
• Demonstrated experience with billing software required
