Position Function: Perform a wide variety of duties, some of a confidential nature. Performs general secretarial duties, which may be required but not limited to answering phones, calling bus riders' guardians, basic computer functions, typing, filing, copying, distributing mail, proofreading, and maintaining department calendar, etc.

Position Function: Perform a wide variety of duties, some of a confidential nature. Performs general secretarial duties, which may be required but not limited to answering phones, calling bus riders' guardians, basic computer functions, typing, filing, copying, distributing mail, proofreading, and maintaining department calendar, etc.
Essential Performance Responsibilities
- Perform bookkeeping procedures: write checks, make deposits, key in data (income and expenses) on the computer, and compile various reports to be sent to the administrative offices
- Perform all payroll procedures
- Perform budget procedures which would include ordering, checking in items for the building and maintaining monthly budget accounting of annual budget
- Assemble and distribute staff, student and community information (such as reports, school newsletters, school letters, etc.)
- Assist with preparation of required reports
- Maintain copier and office machines
- Maintain up-to-date inventory of equipment, office supplies, and building keys
- Maintain transportation specific records such as emergency contacts at each school, school assignment by transportation scheduler, information related to adjusted school schedules (like half days for high school finals, and others)
- Maintain department calendar

- Advanced computer proficiency and the ability to use Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. Additionally, the ability to learn the transportation scheduling software and the ability to learn the software that tracks school vehicle GPS.

- All employees are required to report to work dressed in a manner that reflects a positive image of USD 259 and is appropriate for their position
- A High School education or GED is required
- Minimum one year experience is preferred
Position Specifics
- This position will require the use of transportation specific software, such as the routing software and school vehicle tracking software.
- This position will require the use of over-the-phone interpreting services to communicate important transportation information to families who speak a language different than English.
