Job Title: College Career Coordinator
Position Function: The College Career Center Coordinator position assists in ensuring all students are future ready by providing resources and personalized assistance to with students to establish career choices and help them make connections between career interests and post-secondary plans and completes the necessary steps to achieve their individual goals. In addition, this position facilitates college applications, scholarship applications, and career exploration for all students.
Essential Performance Responsibilities:
- Collaborates with building principals (or designees) and the Assistant Superintendents to provide relevant data pertaining to graduation rate, student scholarships, career interests, and student participation in the College and Career center
- Collaborates with chair of the counseling department in order to monitor activities of each students
- Coordinates with the building designees in order to meet with all juniors, individually, to review their transcripts and schedule college and career opportunities and all seniors, individually, to review transcripts and guide them in the process of college applications and scholarship opportunities, and post-secondary plans
- Publicizes scholarships, college visits, and testing deadlines, and other post-secondary opportunities
- Develops relationships with community and business organizations to support career and college opportunities for all students Coordinates all College and scholarships activities, which include, but are not limited to

- ACT/SAT registration and fee waiver distribution
- ACT/SAT preparation
- College information seminars
- FAFSA information seminars
- FAFSA completion activities
- Financial aid assistance for students with special circumstances
- Hosts all college and military recruiters
- Provide CCC support for summer activities as designated by the building principal
- Attendance at required meetings and in-services
- Some evening and weekend work required
- Ability to perform all tasks and work the required scheduled hours
- Completes all job responsibilities without direct supervision
- Knowledge of resources available to assist students with college plans
- Ability to lead student groups and facilitate discussion
- Intermediate computer proficiency and the ability to effectively use Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint, which will be determined and validated by testing
- Well organized with good time-management skills

Additional Duties: Additional duties as assigned
Equipment: This position required the ability to use SMART boards and iPads in addition to basic office equipment such as computers, copiers, scanners, and fax machine. Must always comply with USD 259's guidelines for equipment use
Travel: Occasional travel may be required

- Will be working under the direct supervision of the department supervisor in order to complete day to day tasks

- Expected to interact with all internal and external customers in a friendly, professional manner and provide quick, responsive customer service
Employee Punctuality and Appearance:
- In order for schools to operate effectively, employees are expected to perform all assigned duties and work all scheduled hours during each designated workday, unless the employee has received approved leave
- Any deviation from assigned hours must have prior approval from the employee's supervisor or building administrator
- All employees are required to report to work dressed in a manner that reflects a positive image of USD 259 and is appropriate for their position
Qualification Profile:
- Bachelor's degree required
- Experience in related Educational field preferred
