Job Story
The Residence Life Coordinator is a key position within the Residence Life and Educational Engagement team, and is responsible for the oversight and management of one of our three residence halls. The RLC supervises a Graduate Residence Life Coordinator and a team of Resident Assistants. The RLC works with this team to actively engage the residents of the building and pursue our common purpose of 'creating a home where Shockers can live, learn, and grow.'
Job Summary
Responsible for the overall administration and coordination of residence life programs, including supervision of student staff.
Essential Functions
Directly supervises and evaluates student staff. Facilitates staff meetings and conducts one-on-ones with staff. Participates in the selection and training of all residence life student staff. Serves as a liaison with campus partners. Coordinates the development, enhancement, and execution of programs. Maintains records, room designations and assignments, schedules, and other needed information and communicates as needed. Assumes on-duty responsibilities on a rotating schedule basis and as-needed. Adjudicates conduct cases for residential students.
Job Duties
This is a live-in position. The RLC serves in an on-call duty rotation and will need to respond in person to situations while on call.
Required Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in related field
- One (1) year of experience in college setting, housing, residence life or related field

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Strong communication skills
- Supervisory skills
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's Degree in Higher Education Leadership or related degree
- Experience supervising students
- Crisis response experience
- Experience hearing student conduct cases
Additional Information:

Physical Requirements:
Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment including but not limited to phone, printers, copiers, and calculators. Ability to communicate with others and accurately exchange information. Ability to remain in a stationary position. Ability to move, transport, and/or deliver items, supplies, or equipment. Ability to move or traverse across campus, within buildings and offices, and/or across external environments.
Additional Physical Requirement:
Medium Work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force to constantly move objects.
