This position receives guidance and direction from an experienced social media director. The company’s clients span hospitality, bars, restaurants, and real estate development. Responsibilities include developing annual plans and social media calendars as well as drafting captions to accompany photos and video. This position also requires content creation through photography and video. Mastery of handheld video editing applications is a requirement. The company engages professional photography and video as needed.
We are looking for someone with strong writing and storytelling skills as well as a background in photography/video. Candidates must have a portfolio of photography and/or video that they can email upon request. This position will be a great opportunity to grow in those skill sets.
The ideal candidate can structure a long-term vision while delivering day-to-day needs and requirements. In addition to an enthusiastic attitude and team mentality, candidates should be able to prioritize tasks and demonstrate a sense of urgency.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor social insights, recommend tactical strategies supported by data, and support growth on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter
- Develop a content calendar and captions in accordance to guidelines set by annual social media plans
- Utilize posting, monitoring and reporting tools to continually refine the social media strategy
- Identify innovative pilot programs, including new social products, social analytics tools, cross-brand content optimization tests and new social platforms or internal products
- Manage relationships with external social partners, vendors, and third-party platforms to ensure that our team is using them as fully as possible with up-to-date best practices
- Help define successful KPIs, monitor and evolve KPIs based on the evolving landscape and client goals
- Participate in client meetings, brainstorms and planning sessions
- Work in partnership with the public relations team to plan announcements and timely events
- Utilize social media tools to identify influencers in a variety of categories
- Review weekly and monthly reports and summarize highlights for audience growth, traffic, and engagement across key social channels
- Perform cross-platform competitive reviews (competitive ranking by vertical, top-performing posts, benchmark audience and engagement metrics, key shifts in content trends, etc.)
- Assist the Social Media Director with photography/content creation by developing shot lists, planning shoots, creating inspiration sheets and reporting
- Monitor social media channels in real time for engagement and negative posts
- Utilize a content management tool, such as Sprout
Qualifications:
- A minimum of one year of social media experience working with Instagram, Facebook and TikTok
- Exceptional creative writing skills with a strong grasp of grammar and punctuation
- A creative eye and experience in photography/video
- Previous tactical experience in social media responsible for publishing/creating social content and managing a brand’s social presence
- Mastery of native analytics and insights tools (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc.)
- Sharp understanding and point of view on social media trends. Follows leading blogs, and thought leaders and stays up to date on the latest content, product and marketing trends in social
- Proficient with social measurement tools including but not limited to social planning (Sprout, Falcon, NUVI), social listening (Listen First, etc.) and social analytics (Crowdtangle, DashHudson, Tailwind, etc.)
- Experience with third-party analytics and syndication research platforms (Google Analytics, Omniture, etc.) preferred
- Experience in working with influencers and developing influencer strategies
- Experience with the paid social landscape and/or organic social media boosting
- Strong attention to detail
- Excellent communication and organization skills
- Exceptional data storyteller with strong presentation skills
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently and with a team to meet deadlines
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, adapt to last-minute requests and multi-task
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $43,000.00 per year
