HOURS
Full time 12-month position (260 contract days)
Bargaining Unit: This position is part of the Unit II (Administrators and Supervisors) bargaining unit.
FLSA: Exempt
QUALIFICATIONS
Master’s degree in educational leadership with Administrator 1 endorsement.
ESOL endorsement or extensive experience in working with multilingual learners is required.
Five (5) years of successful classroom experience.
Ability to organize, delegate, and supervise.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Demonstrated leadership skills and personal qualifications necessary to work successfully with students, teachers, administrators, parents, and the community.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Under the direction of the ESOL Supervisor, the Coordinator II provides leadership in developing and implementing curriculum for multilingual learners, supervises staff, manages grants, monitors student records, and collaborates with community partners, district staff, administrators, and families.
ESSENTIAL TASKS
Work in collaboration with the Supervisor of ESOL to build and maintain a seamless system of service for multi-lingual learners.
Attend local and state meetings as an active partner in the development and implementation of the district ESOL program.
Develop and provide professional development for stakeholders based on current research, monitoring/compliance, and data-driven student outcomes.
Conduct monitoring and audits of student records to ensure compliance with federal and state requirements.
Maintain a high knowledge base of the lastest issues, research, laws, and most effective practices in the field.
Analyze data to effectively support multilingual learners.
Write, monitor, and implement applicable grants.
Participate in budget development for program.
Interview applicants; observe and evaluate employees.
Work collaboratively with other content area supervisors and building level administrators.
Perform related work and duties as assigned by the Supervisor of ESOL.
