About this position:
This position works under the direction of the Facility Maintenance Manager and is responsible for general maintenance of the Wicomico County Department of Corrections to include the buildings. The individual will perform a variety of skilled, semi-skilled, construction, maintenance, modification and repair activities as required. The majority of work performed is in a secure correctional environment with and around inmates.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or general equivalency diploma (G.E.D.)
- Five years of skilled trade / maintenance experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job as listed above.
- A technician with a working knowledge of locksmith, HVAC and / or refrigeration with Universal Technician EPA card is preferred.
- College-level course work to obtain job-related licenses or certificates is desirable.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Required to complete Correctional Academy for Support Personnel.
- Must pass a Psychological Exam, Medical Physical, background check & drug test.
