Job Summary
The Director of Environmental Services is responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of environmental services within the organization. This role ensures that the facility maintains a clean, safe, and sanitary environment for both staff and patients. The Director will lead a team of custodial staff, implement best practices in commercial cleaning, and ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and standards.
Duties
- Develop and implement policies and procedures for environmental services to ensure cleanliness and sanitation across the facility.
- Supervise and train custodial staff in effective cleaning techniques, floor care, and proper use of cleaning chemicals.
- Conduct regular inspections to ensure that cleaning standards are met and maintained throughout the facility.
- Collaborate with other departments to coordinate cleaning schedules that minimize disruption to nursing home operations.
- Manage inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment, ensuring that all necessary materials are available for staff.
- Monitor compliance with OSHA regulations related to safety in the workplace, including proper handling of hazardous materials.
- Address any issues or concerns related to environmental services promptly and effectively.
- Prepare reports on cleaning operations, including performance metrics and areas for improvement.
- Maintain laundry schedules and ensure all regulatory requirements are met.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in environmental services management, preferably in a hospital or healthcare setting.
- Strong knowledge of custodial practices, commercial cleaning techniques, and floor care maintenance.
