Required Skills:
1. Ability to effectively plan, organize, direct, and evaluate the nursing service operation.
2. Able to manage employees, practicing good leadership principles and following facility policies.
3. Ability to execute Patient Care Policies and coordinate patient Care Management System.
Duties:
A. Administrative
1. Serve as Resident Services Director.
2. Execute Patient Care Policies.
3. Coordinate Patient Care Management System.
4. Serve on the Quality Assurance Committee and all other required committees.
5. Participate in the selection of prospective admissions.
6. Participate in annual budget planning meetings.
7. Monitor products and services utilized in Nursing Service, to meet patient needs and control costs.
8. Perform duties as delegated by Administrator.
9. Assist in the development and updating of nursing policies.
10. Attend continuing education seminars and workshops to assure adequate personnel staff development.
11. Assure compliance with Bloodborne pathogen Standards.
Director of Nursing
B. Patient Care
1. Monitor patient care to assure that quality care is maintained and individual needs of patients are met.
2. Monitor documentation in the Medical Record, to assure appropriate, complete and accurate entries are made.
3. Review the Patient Assessment System and Patient Care Planning, to assure appropriate, complete and accurate entries are made.
C. Personnel
1. Obtain qualified Nursing Service Personnel in accordance with established standards.
2. Provide orientation to all new Nursing Service personnel, to familiarize them with the policies and procedures of the home, physical plant and equipment and the residents as well as to assess their position skills.
3. Provide staff development to all Nursing Service employees, to enhance and enlarge their knowledge base, and to assure compliance with existing regulations.
4. Evaluate job performance of licensed staff and instruct nurses in evaluation of nursing assistants.
5. Execute disciplinary policy where appropriate.
6. Evaluate staffing needs, and make recommendations to the Administrator.
7. Schedule Nursing Service personnel at established levels.
8. Assist in preparing written job descriptions for nursing personnel.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $99,051.00 - $104,452.00 per year
