Qualifications :
High school or technical school diploma or equivalent combinations of technical training and / or related experience.
5 years' experience in a leadership role in underground or utility construction is required.
Demonstrated ability to successfully supervise projects of at least $3.5M with the capacity to manage single projects between $4M and $8M.
Building Superintendent license required.
Capable of obtaining various certificates and licenses required by the industry and customers and / or requested by the Division Manager or Operations Manager.
OSHA 10 Construction Certification, or ability to obtain during pre-employment (company provided online training).
Obtain and maintain a DOT medical card and pass pre-employment drug screen.
Ability to obtain and maintain a valid unrestricted Driver’s License.
Essential Functions / Position Responsibilities :
Adhere to and promote all Company Safety Policies and the Company Code of Conduct.
Oversee field construction activities to ensure compliance with design, budget, and schedule, involving interaction with customers, project managers, site supervisors, and other contractors. Ensures the work performed complies with all requirements of the contract documents and specifications.
Create and execute work schedules that identify the critical path, expediting the timely delivery of scheduled critical materials and equipment to the site.
Schedule and dispatch field employees and sub-contractors for most efficient use of labor, equipment, and materials.
Coordinate on-site and emergency job functions (scheduling, material control, personnel, day-to-day direction, technical advice, and quality control) to ensure timely, budget-conscious, and quality completion of work.
Provide technical assistance and assist project management in the development and implementation of project procedures working documents, standards, etc.
Maintain accurate time and material records and complete client paperwork as required. Time sheets, work orders, billing descriptions, project reports, etc.
Plan, coordinate and supervise on-site and emergency job functions (scheduling, material control, personnel and may provide day-to-day direction) in order to complete the work on time, within budget, and to quality specified.
Provide leadership to field personnel, ensuring compliance and documenting all violations. Notify project management, implement corrective action, and make recommendations on hiring, termination, discipline, and training programs for craft employees.
Prepare for project startup with the Project Superintendent and Project Manager. Execute project activities as required to meet day-to-day and overall objectives.
Keep the Project Superintendent apprised of any change in activity or cost prior to incurring additional time or materials outside of the project scope.
Direct and train foremen and field staff for ongoing development through performance evaluations, varied assignments, and fostering positive morale.
Performs other miscellaneous duties and responsibilities as required.
