What are the responsibilities and job description for the Civil Litigation Legal Assistant position at Widerman Malek, PL?
Widerman Malek, PL located in Melbourne, Fl. is seeking a full-time legal assistant to join its growing civil litigation department.
This is a full-time position and an opportunity to establish a long-term career at our growing firm. This is not a transitional position.
Responsibilities will include:
- Preparing, reviewing, and finalizing legal documents
- Working directly with clients to gather and organize information
- Managing case files
- Speaking with new and existing clients on the phone and in person
- Scheduling consultations and maintaining calendars for the department
- Scheduling hearings, depositions, mediations, etc.
- Filing, faxing, emailing, and scanning documents
- Communicating with other legal professionals
- Maintaining an electronic docket system
- Performing special projects, as needed
- Answering telephones cordially
- Assisting with administrative duties, as requested
Must be able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment, while maintaining a personal and professional presentation. You must be an excellent communicator, well organized, and proficient with computers, particularly Microsoft Office, Excel, and Adobe Professional.
Experience: A degree in legal studies preferred. Civil litigation experience required. Experience in PracticeMaster case management software is a plus.
