What are the responsibilities and job description for the Marine Mechanical Technician Assistant position at Wiegel Brothers Marine?
The Technician Assistant will play a key role in helping technician team accomplish service projects in a timely and efficient manner as a main priority. as a secondary priority the Tech Assistant may be required to assist the Weigel Brothers team in daily operational tasks (e.g. product restocking, clean-up, boat detailing. The Assistant may receive additional responsibilities according to skill level, specialized background, and/or knowledge.
Responsibilities: Service Department
Assist lead technicians in service jobs involving the inspection, maintenance, and repair of watercraft and marine engines.
Train on and support in the installation of marine electronics components etc. Fish/Depth Finders, Marine Stereo Equipment, etc.. eventually completing these jobs independently
Assist in rigging of new boats and engines
Assist in boat trailer maintenance (lights, wiring, wheel bearings, etc.
Help to maintain the overall appearance of the show and service rooms
Check and restock product where necessary
Washing and maintaining of in stock boats
Requirements:
Completion of High School, GED or completed at least 2 years of related technical program (e.g. Vo-Tech Electronic Engineering Program.
Valid state driver's license.
Possess a general understanding of fishing and pleasure watercraft and marine engines.
Mechanical background in power sports and Marine Industry.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining focus to accomplish the task at hand.
Good team player and customer service skills
Physical Requirements
Lifting of small engines or other heavy items (90-130lbs)
Occasional light building/ground maintenance.
Wear clothing and footwear appropriate for job safety.
Competencies are most important for assistant position.
Team Player, take initiative but ask questions when necessary, be diligent in work, accurate and thorough on assigned task, be productive and quality driven.

Compensation will be dependent on skill level and qualifications, Incentives and raise considered for completion of training.

Pay: $15.00 - $16.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
